Methodology

Manual snow survey sampling from snow courses typically consist of 10 measurement points. Measurements of snow water equivalent (SWE) and snow depth are expressed as an average across the 10 snow course points. Measurements are taken three times a year near the start of March, April , and May unless otherwise noted.

The sampling methodology used mirrors British Columbia's snow sampling guide: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/environment/air-land-water/water/snow/snow_survey_sampling_guide.pdf
