During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yukon government implemented a trusted mechanism to prove vaccination against COVID-19 (the COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination Certificate service).
This service was developed jointly by the Department of Highways and Public Works ("HPW") and the Department of Health and Social Services ("HSS"), as an expedient, low-barrier method for Yukon residents to request and receive their Proof of Vaccine Credential ("PVC"). The PVC system was developed to allow for individuals to request their own PVC electronically, increasing the efficiency in which individuals can obtain their records, while reducing strain on HSS program areas.
