The Government of Yukon’s Department of Health and Social Services (“HSS”) has
been engaging on operational matters to support its work toward a Digital Health Strategy since 2023. HSS’s work in this area has also been informed by the Putting People First report, which made recommendations to improve the health and social system for Yukoners. Relevant to this work, HSS formed a team to implement Cambian Online Scheduler within the Panorama technical
architecture.
Cambian Online Scheduler is an appointment booking tool that clients access via a public facing
Yukon Government (“YG”) webpage. Clients are able to use Cambian Online Scheduler to schedule their own appointments for public health services.
HSS implemented Phase I of Cambian Online Scheduler in December 2023. At the time of drafting the Phase I PIA, HSS plans to implement Phase II and Phase III of Cambian Online Scheduler. Each of these phases is described as follows:
• Phase I: Replace CanImmunize with Cambian Online Scheduler to allow client bookings for COVID-19 and influenza immunizations (completed in December 2023)
• Phase II: Implement Cambian Online Scheduler for Yukon Communicable Disease Control (“YCDC”) to allow client bookings for YCDC Services (e.g., STI test, STI results, emergency contraception, pregnancy test)
• Phase III: Additional services to be added to Community Nursing:
o Tuberculosis screening
o Adult Immunizations
o Infant Immunization and Assessment (2 Month, 4 Month, 6 Month, 12 Month, and 18 Month)
o Child Immunization (4-6 Pre-Kindergarten, Grade 6 [9+ years], and Grade 9)
o Prenatal Class
o Breastfeeding Support
o Seasonal Immunizations (Flu, COVID, RSV, and/or others as eligible)
Client bookings from Cambian Online Scheduler are integrated with Cambian Appointment Scheduler, which is an internal system interfaced with Panorama and only available to Yukon Heath Service staff to manage client appointments when they present to a clinic in person.
The Cambian Appointment Scheduler is a third-party product that is interfaced with Panorama
to support public health professionals to efficiently manage time at the client, facility, and organizational levels in clinical and non-clinical (e.g., health information management system)
settings.
